You'll constantly hear a vibrating synth zoom from one side of your ear to the other. Its rather satisfying, albeit slightly far-fetched. This has its finest relation to "Setting Sun" from their previous album, including the fact that it was a Beatles song and both tracks feature the same singer. Its a bonus, but sadly grew tired of hearing Gallagher's screechy pop vocals overrun the songs.
Not all is fine and dandy at this point. What could've been done with a creative vocal sample forges itself into a loop of drugged out pop synth's and a slow BPM.
Not exactly everyone's morning lemon. Once hearing a piece of the chorus on the radio, I was convinced that the Brothers had created another block rocker. What I found out was completely different. In fact, wasn't even the same track I had imagined it to be.
While the beat is overall appealing, the track could've had little more variation. Topics Chemical Brothers Surrender Kink. Related Content. I think it is one of the best covers I have seen in a long time. This album is a regular in my rotation, especially when I am designing. For me, this is a classic that changed my life as no other electronic album did. Near perfect and as psychedelic as its cover pretends.
The first half of the album is one continuous mix of banger after banger after banger. One thing to notice on here is that this is the most analog of all the Chemical Brothers albums. There are electronic noises in the background and noises throughout, but the main focus is on the drum breaks. Speaking of the drum breaks, I get the sense that they were the least edited on this release too.
Because of this, Exit Planet Dust to me is a lot closer to instrumental hip-hop than others would expect. That was really my main issue with their previous album, Dig your Own Hole.
