The Switchlock technology in the frame allows the wearer to quickly release the lower jaw via a hinge and change lenses. This was by far the biggest breakthrough on the Jawbone and was clearly evident in the naming of the pair. The Jawbone also featured Unobtainium earsocks and nosepads for added comfort. This is fairly standard across modern sports pairs so not too much of a surprise here. Like most modern frames, the Oakley Jawbone lenses are made of Plutonite and were available in a variety of colors.

Oakley also released both vented and non-vented lenses across the Jawbone. Vented lenses are primarily popular to avoid fogging by providing airflow behind the lenses. Additionally, across many of the colorways, Oakley included an extra set of lenses. This further helped them push the lens swap technology with the Racing Jacket. Now instead of requiring wearers to buy an additional pair of lenses, they already had them!

The Jawbone sunglasses were released in a variety of colorways and limited editions. While the Jawbone and Racing Jacket sunglasses are extremely similar in design and function, there are some subtle differences. As we mentioned above, both pairs are extremely similar from a functional perspective.

Plus the Racing Jacket is available directly from some online retailers meaning it will be a bit easier and cheaper to buy. Be sure to do your due diligence and know how to spot fakes!
