Santa sangre jodorowsky rapidshare

All the long shots of the elephant show it's trunk covered in blood. Quotes Concha : [to Fenix] You can't atone for your sins with nightmares. Crazy credits [over the final freeze-frame] I stretch out my hands to thee: my soul thirsts for thee like a parched land Teach me the way I should go, for to thee I lift up my soul. Alternate versions The US has two versions available on video: the R-rated version, which runs about minutes, and the NC version, which is about minutes the one released uncut in Britain and other European countries.

The differences between the two are hardly noticeable except for two scenes - the first scene being the dismemberment of the mother. In the NC version, there are extra cuts of blood and gore spraying on the walls, and then we also see a few extra shots of blood spurting out of the father's neck shortly after he commits suicide we see this from behind; a startlingly un-explicit shot to be considered NC material. The other scene is even more noticeable. The death of the prostitute is much more explicit in the NC version: we see many shots of her being graphically stabbed in the back and chest with loads of blood literally dumping out of her wounds.

Then, we briefly see the knife stab through the back of her neck and poke out the front - all in one explicit shot. Practically the entire scene is missing in the R-rated version. Tie Me Down! User reviews Review.

Top review. You will remember this movie! I saw the U. I was intrigued by the thought of a man who makes movies once every 15 years.

Well, I'll tell you. The people sitting next to me left 10 - 15 minutes into the movie. If you can get through the first 30 minutes, it is worthwhile. Of course, I am into very surrealistic movies and ones that address the question of what is real and what is not. After seeing it, the visuals have stayed with me over the years.

A powerful movie for the adventurous. Details Edit. Release date June 27, United States. Mexico Italy. Holy Blood. Box office Edit. It's nowhere near The Holy Mountain level of strangeness, but Santa Sangre is still a bizarre and dark film from the one of the greatest directors of the surreal.

This is a film of nonsensical imagery, of a man sleeping in a dog basket, another man ripping off his own ear, the dead rising from their graves, and a lead whose arms belong to his mother. The mother-son relationship is troubling to say the least, with the son becoming an extension of his mother.

He becomes her arms, her servant, her companion. She has power and influence…. Inner demons and cathartic epiphanies, Jodorowsky's film is produced by Claudio Argento and the director himself resorts to the typical giallo elements seen for two past decades in the Italian horror films, surpassing almost all of them. With the outstanding characteristic direction style of Jodorowsky and resulting in his most accessible cult film, the uplifting sensation provided towards the third final chapter of the film beautifully contrasts the psyche's past nightmare and the defeat of false illusions, ultimately caused by fake gods.

Love transcends and justice prevails, either totally or partially. Such beautiful violence, a vivid representation of life itself, just like my personal favorite Mexican and Latin American pieces of music contained in this movie Sometimes you hear about this great weird movie and it doesn't really live up to its expectations Santa Sangre is a film I've avoided for a while but I'm glad I finally got a chance to see it because it's fantastic and weird and fun.

Fenix had a tough upbringing. He grew up in a circus and watched his dad cut off his moms arms and then the dad died. Now he is escaping from the mental health facility he lives in so that he can spend more time with his armless mom I've never seen anything quite like Santa Sangre.

It sucks you in while never…. Oh hey, an "It's about trauma. Don't get those very often. Since I'm known well-enough at this rate for my adoration of Nicolas Winding Refn, it's rather stupid that it took me this long to watch a movie by his spiritual mentor. I've heard my fair share of stories about Alejandro Jodorowsky, and of course, he's a director I now hope to come back to again very soon.

As I delve into his more well-known and more controversial films, I am sure I will have more to say about him. Santa Sangre is a visual and auditory feast. Even at its most violent and upsetting moments from a circus to a…. Elephants puking blood, mime children haunting emotionally scarred little boys who saw their mom get diced and sliced by their circus Dad. Developmentally challenged kids doing cocaine and dance sequences with prostitutes.

This one's gotta em all. I've seen some freaking weird movies in my long and sorted history. I sat through Post Tenebras Lux. I've seen the weird shit. When playing the film file on the VCL Player the preferred weapon of choice , the subtitles will appear onscreen Great review, Wes. Jodorowski makes far too few films, imo. Santa Sangre is one of my all-time favourites.

Many thanks Jon I must get the Blu of Santa Sangre next, extraordinary film.
