Your virtual center is your first point of contact for any and all questions. They will help you with your studies, payments and any questions you might have. The content on all of the online platforms can be accessed on a phone. However, because you will be spending a lot of time doing online coursework and assignments, we recommend using a computer or tablet. Students will receive grades in the online classes the same way they received grades in class. However, because of the online format, the assessments will not be exactly the same.

Students will be assessed based on attendance and participation in live sessions, completion of online listening, grammar and reading activities, and speaking and writing evaluations. The online live instruction and educational platform is fully aligned with the ELS methodology.

Each week, you will participate in group classes with instructors, private one-on-one sessions with instructors, and independent work online. It will be 18 hours of remote teaching, plus individual work in the GEL platform. Listening and speaking practice and feedback will be a particular focus in during the Structure and Speaking class. Listening and speaking will be done through guided interactions with the teacher and in monitored discussions with other students in online breakout rooms.

Listening practice will also be emphasized in independent online activities. You will also be required to complete a research paper to receive the Level Certificate of Completion from ELS Canada as this is a condition of the Pathway Partner agreements in Canada.
