Windows 2008 print spooler keeps crashing
In both cases, the printers ran perfectly for several months prior to the issue arising. While this may not be the resolution, I would suggest checking out the drivers first. Yes, I am using easy print on a RDS server. I will look into that.
Thanks for pointing me in a direction other than clueless. I have struggled with getting reliable operation from Easy Print before. Many times I have just installed the native driver to the printer so it is usable by the redirection. Hopefully this helps. Also, take a look at the bottom of the page I linked. It says something about missing printers. Once you get the printers working correctly, you can also disable redirection of remote clients' printers to avoid potential issues from problematic drivers on their machines.
You would go into Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration, select the relevant connection name, right-click and select properties, click the Client Settings tab, then select the items to disable in the Redirection pane at the bottom.
I enabled easy print, and it made the load time on our accounting software ultra slow. Normally I would install the drivers, but I am working with about 1gb of space left on the system drive This also caused the print spoolers to stop on the end users. The only way I can get the end users back up is to uninstall the driver package. This issue is affecting the Windows server and the windows 7 computers as well. Trying to identify why this has happened twice and determine how to fixit before the rest of my Server and end go down as well.
This time around I had to remove the printers and drivers with a regedit. I also removed all files in the all files for in the. Yet this time, when I reinstall the M and M drivers it brings down the print server spooler again. I am frustrated to say the least. This thread is locked.
